Day 1: Arrival
Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be warmly greeted by our tour guide from Mugenyi Eco-Tours. After a brief recap of your exciting safari experience, you will be driven to a local hotel where you can unwind. If your energy and schedule allow, we invite you to join an engaging city tour of Kampala, the vibrant capital of Uganda. This city tour provides a unique perspective on the lively atmosphere of an African metropolis. You will have the opportunity to visit significant sites such as the famous Old Mosque, the historic Buganda Palace, and the impressive Kabaka Palace. Each location offers a fascinating glimpse into Uganda’s rich culture and history. The tour concludes with a delightful taste of Ugandan cuisine.
Day 2: Transfer to Sipi Falls
After breakfast, we will head to the Sipi Falls for a scenic hike to the stunning waterfalls. For the more adventurous, there is the option to abseil down the waterfalls for a thrilling up-close experience. This area is famous for its falls and its proximity to Mount Elgon National Park. Later, you can experience a unique coffee tour in nearby villages known for producing some of Uganda’s best coffee. We will learn about the indigenous culture by visiting the local communities of the Sabiny and Bagishu who are known for their hospitality. You can learn about their traditional farming practices and way of life.
Day 3: Travelling to Kidepo Valley National Park
On this day you will drive to the Karamoja area in Kidepo. The Kidepo region offers rich cultural experiences that allow you to immerse yourself in the local traditions and lifestyles. You will visit local markets where you can get handmade crafts, fresh products and other local goods. This is a great way to support the local economy and engage with the community. In the evening a game drive in the park awaits you. This park is well known for cheetahs and ostriches that are not found anywhere in Uganda. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Wildlife viewing and Karamoja exploration
After breakfast in the morning we shall go for a wildlife viewing in the park. A lot can be seen here like giraffes etc. In the evening you can look forward to a community walk in the community of Karamoja.
Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
On this day, you will embark on a journey that takes you through the vibrant town of Gulu City, a captivating stop on your way to the stunning Murchison Falls National Park where
you will check into Uganda’s largest national park, a breathtaking expanse known for its diverse wildlife and majestic waterfalls.
Day 6: Nile Boat Cruise and Game Drive
After breakfast we will embark on a morning wildlife drive in Uganda’s largest national
park, Murchison Falls National Park. During this drive, you can observe a variety of animals, including elephants and lions. In the afternoon a boat ride on the Nile awaits you.
Day 7: Transfer to Kibale and Top of the Murchison Falls National Park
On this day you will embark on your journey to Kibale, traveling along the scenic
Hoima Road. As we make our way, prepare to be captivated by the breathtaking views and lush landscapes. A highlight of the trip will be a stop at the summit of the magnificent Nile Falls, where you can take in the stunning vistas and the powerful rush of water cascading down. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area with a leisurely walk through the nearby community, where the sights and sounds of local wildlife will provide a memorable experience.
Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park
A chimpanzee trekking awaits you on this day, after a briefing in the park’s headquarters.
Once you spot the chimps in their natural habitat, you will have a full hour to observe their fascinating behaviors and interactions.
This lush forest, known as Uganda’s primate capital, is a vibrant ecosystem teeming with wildlife, including the striking Black-and-White Colobus Monkeys and the agile Red-Tailed Monkeys.
Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Community Walk
After breakfast, we will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the foothills of Rwenzori Mountain, where we shall go for a community walk and Twin Lake walk in the nearby community or sundowner at the Twin Lakes.
Day 10: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day we shall go for a morning game drive in the northern sector of
the park, Kasenyi Plains. In the afternoon we shall drive to Kazinga Channel for an afternoon boat cruise.
Day 11: Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, we will drive along Ishasha Road to the stunning Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing lions in this southern section, as well as other wildlife like the striking topi.
After some exciting wildlife viewing, we will check into our lodge and relax. The highlight of our day will be the chance to encounter the magnificent mountain gorillas that inhabit this lush region, promising an unforgettable experience.
Day 12: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
In the morning we will head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. You shall be given one hour to observe the gorillas in their natural habitat. Following lunch at the resort, we will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi to relax by the shore.
Day 13: Canoeing and Relaxation in Lake Bunyonyi
On this day, you shall have a relaxation on the deepest lake in Uganda. You can have a simple canoe on Lake Bunyonyi as you relax about the days you had in the field, or you can have a small walk on one of the 29 islands that are found on this lake.
Day 14: Returning to Entebbe After a hearty Breakfast
We will travel along the scenic Kabale-Mbarara Road to Kampala. Along the way, we will stop at the equator for a memorable photo opportunity and some insights about this unique landmark. You can expect to arrive in Kampala in the evening.
